Our DNA

In 2014 I took a generic DNA test. Now first let me say that you should take this with a grain of salt for what it’s worth. It is not the detailed test that tells you exactly what percentage of each region you have in you. It also does not break it down into male and female distinctions telling us what part comes from my mother’s side and what part comes from my father’s side. The test that tells you all that were expensive and I did not want to pay that price in 2014 to get that one done. It can trace down to where your first female ancestor came into America. So instead these results are from both sides of my parents and I do not know which is which. Plus this particular test only does five countries. So the Asian could be American Indian since American Indians come from Asia but not necessarily so. I have always heard that we have Indian ancestors. I don’t know how true that is because a lot of black people said that because they were ashamed of the way that we got white blood in our bloodlines. If only I had a dime for every time someone Black told me they were “part Cherokee” (or some other Indian tribe). But a Black ancestry and genetics expert says most Black claims of being part Indian just aren’t borne out in DNA testing. No, you may not be a Navajo princess. DNA test shows that less than 10% of African American has Indian blood in their bloodline. There is one interesting thing is that the only European DNA is Irish. So I guess that means that we all have some Irish blood in us. I can’t wait till St. Patrick’s Day, so I can get myself a t-shirt that says “Kiss Me I’m Irish”. Tell me that won’t freak some people out. However, we became who we are we have no control over. I am proud of who God has made us to be and that’s all that matters. Hold your head up high and be the best you can be!

Also, an upcoming video I have about the Thomas side of our family actually shows us where the Irish came from. Check out the DNA Map below.
